About the Author: Michael Creurer
Forced to
change lanes at an early age; no longer physically able to manage
his retail stores because of physical disability, Michael has
journeyed into personal counselling and writing. He has worked
with people with physical disabilities and writes about his
and other's methods of coping with the myriad of emotional issues
presented by the many changes that individuals experience when
aging, becoming ill, or physically disabled. The information
and stories in Changing
Lanes are pertinent to people who are forced into
the Slow Lane of Life.

Comments from readers:
I wish this
book had been available to help me
deal with the emotional turmoil that I experienced
many years ago when I was diagnosed
with multiple sclerosis.

As I read
this book there were times when I felt the material was written
about me and the circumstances of my life. I did benefit from
reading Changing Lanes, and have recommended
it to my friends.

Since
2000 Michael has not been able to work at his counselling
practice. His own problems are enough for him to cope with.
To use an analogy: it is almost impossible for a mechanic
to work on someone else’s vehicle before repairing his
own if it is not running properly. Michael’s journey
has shifted to helping others in ways that entail less direct
contact. Writing informative publications, articles, and publishing
newletters for disability organizations has become his primary
way of communicating with his disabled peers.
